  • All summer vendors are required to submit a Certificate of Liability Insurance.
    • As of January 1, 2021, liability insurance with not less than $1,000,000 minimum coverage is required of all vendors. You must send us a copy of a liability insurance certificate after submitting your application naming “Orcas Island Farmers Market Association” as additionally insured in an email to orcasislandfarmersmarket@gmail.com before your first day of Market participation. Contact your current business or farm insurance provider to receive a certificate of liability insurance.
    • If you do not currently have business insurance, you can contact Alexis Akers at Madrona Point Insurance for full annual coverage or visit ACT Insurance at www.actinsurance.com for self-service standalone event liability insurance. Policies with ACT start at around $25/Month and it is tailored for artisans, crafters, and small businesses.
    • ***NOTE*** ACT Insurance has a great monthly coverage – so if you are a drop in or Partial Season vendor, consider coverage for all months spanning your participation dates.
    • Other online providers: State Farm, USAA, and other major providers do have small business coverage – depending on what you sell their policy might actually be less expensive. Handmade Insurance (www.handmadeinsurance.com) and NEXT Insurance (www.nextinsurance.com) are also good options worth running a quote through.

  • If you are a participating Food Vendor, you must also provide a current Temporary Food Service Permit from San Juan County. For more details, contact Zoe Froyland zoef@sanjuancountywa.gov at San Juan County Health and Community Services. The Temporary Food Service Permit form can also be found at: https://www.sanjuancountywa.gov/416/Food-Safety-Program. This is not the same as a Food Handlers Permit, which is also required. A copy of this permit must be provided to the Market Manager PRIOR to your first day.
